Director, Digital Currency Group

 

Meltem is the Director of Development at Digital Currency Group (DCG), a firm focused on building and supporting bitcoin and blockchain companies by leveraging its insights, network, and access to capital. In her role, Meltem leads DCG’s Development team which drives growth, network, and strategy across a portfolio of 100 portfolio companies across 27 countries, dozens of strategic investors, 3 operating subsidiaries, and DCG’s corporate partners and leading academic institutions. In addition, she leads DCG’s newest venture, DCG Connect, which is working to connect the fragmented blockchain technology ecosystem. In her role, Meltem spends much of her time working with corporate boards, institutions, regulators, and other policy stakeholders across the world advocating and educating for digital currencies and blockchain technology.

Meltem holds a BA in Mathematical Economics from Rice University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She is a guest lecturer at the MIT Media Lab, and is a member of the World Economic Forum Blockchain Council. As a truly global citizen, Meltem has lived and worked in over 2 dozen countries, and is actively involved in causes related to personal privacy and women’s education.
